Porthtowan - high tide,2-3ft a wind blown to hell, spent 1 hour just getting pushed around in chop, waves were so messy, got out annoyed.

Portreath - high tide, 3ft choppy, unpredictable, and had some fast rides, short, lumpy but fun. Serious hold down on a couple.

Holywell - high tide, 1ft, grabbed my skimboard for a fun old skool bellyboard, had tiny little wedges with Brett and Jo.

Gwithian - 1ft mid to low tide, mucked around on my skimboard, knackered my knee, then attempted to learn stand up with Martin. Failed miserably..!

Maenporth - high tide, my mums birthday party, had some fun body surfing in 2ft shorebreak for an hour or so... no wetsuit, just boardies...

Godrevy - 6.30am low/mid tide on the push - 2ft and slack. Met Ollie for a dawny. It was gutless and pants. Had one good wave in 1 hour 30 mins.

Porthtowan - 4.30pm with Karl, had a better session this time, a bit more punch and sucky little lefts. Met legend Ollie Medland.

High tide at Perran Sands. Met Mike, from the cliffs it looked OK, when we got down there it was pretty good, had some drop knee rides and some nice long lefts. Beautiful weather, a tatty old shortie and plenty of fun.

Godrevy - Low tide on the turn/push - 3ft and clean. Sun was shining and had a few good rides. It didn't look much, but when they came in (long time between sets) they had some punch.

Portreath - low tide: just having a muck around on a kneeboard, no leash and plenty of 'back to shore' paddling.

Mid tide to high tide at Perran Sands. It was about 2ft+ with slack shoulders and lame take offs. The boys enjoyed it, but it's not my cup of tea. The waves were clean and the sunshone, so it was just a pleasant afternoon.

Mid tide and dropping at Porthtowan. Quite a paddle out as expected. Nobody else out at 8.30am. Some nice chunky 4-5ft rights, but mainly lefts. Fast lines and powerful moves were the order of the day. Only had a handful of waves in an hour. Alot of paddle out duck dives... sunshine and peace.. perfect

1 hour off high tide at Godrevy. 5ft big right and lefts with 6+ft sets swinging in. Lovely sunshine, only one other guy out, a beast of a paddle out, but well worth, had a handful of big rights, some bouncy take offs, huge bottom turns, carves on the shoulder and just big manoeuvres all round. Got back ache later that day..!

After 3 and a half weeks of back stretching and no surf, I finally jumped in 2ft small fun waves with Jason at low tide Croyde. So relieved to be in again and my back didn't kill me..

Met Ollie at 7.45am and jumped in at Godrevy, it was about 2ft and a bit slack, but good to get in. Back has been majorly playing up, so i've gotta take it easy for the few weeks... arse

I've been really slack over the passed few months about keeping a blog and sponging in general, family life has taken over for a bit, i've had some cold winter sessions, but not unbearable, mainly at Portreath at different tides. The usual boys are around, Danny Catten, Matt Reed, Tim Brown and Eldrid. I'm on it again, so here's to 2009

Porthtowan - 1 hour before high tide - beautiful 2-3ft clean lefts and rights, not a soul in.. jesus it was cold, but some lovely rides, big carves, reverses, a couple of close outs and airs..sweet.

Porthtowan - high tide - 3ft messy, alot of chop and not much reward for the effort.. it was so cold, i didn't wear gloves or hoodie... my hands stung from the minute i put my suit on..! but still good to get in..

iam currently riding an elemenopee skipp set up 42" bat tail, it's a ripper, Dave Heard at BBHQ - Bodyboard HQ in Portreath really knows his stuff and the selection of gear was superb.
